The sky was bright. I have confident that it’ll be a sunny day but then the nature speaks different. A big rain coming up on our way there. Luckily, it didn’t last long.
Orchid Forest Cikole, located in West Bandung Regency is one of the most popular destination around here. Unpolluted mountain air, foggy atmosphere, lots of lots of pine trees, simply the purest of nature can make your mind a little bit calm and relax, if it’s not ruined by the people who running here and there taking pictures and things.
I have little interest in a destination like this, just because of the crowded people who ruin the view. If i want to go to places, i rather go far and discover some place who have far less visitors so i can really enjoy the things that the place give.
But well, the place isn’t the main reason that made me go there. It was because of this person who appear in my previous post. Well, it’s not that bad. We went there completely by public transportation (and it’s called angkot).
At first, we went to Terminal Leuwipanjang and catch an angkot to Terminal Ledeng. From there, we use another angkot which will take us to Lembang. And finally, we catch another angkot which later take us right to the destination (Orchid Forest Cikole).
There’s two entrance that we have to went through. First is the place to get a ticket and then the main entrance for checking. I didn’t take a photo on the entrance because it was raining, but basically it’s just a place where you have to show your ticket before going deeper to the so-called ‘forest’. The price for the ticket itself was 35k rupiah for each person on the weekend.
It’s easy to navigate this place since most of the road have been built by rocky things (i don’t know what it called lol). There was some sign which i didn’t take a photo of, which will help you to know where you wanna go next.
There aren’t much things that we can do at the time we visit. Most of the thing that we can try like flying fox was disabled due to the rain. So the least thing that you can do there beside from enjoying the view is the things that everybody does. Taking pictures. Trust me, there are lots of spots that you can use. Sadly, i didn’t bring a camera with me. Well, i don’t have any.
One of the favorite place to go in the Orchid Forest is the Wooden Bridge. Sadly, we were charged by 20k each person just to cross the bridge. Some people say that the price were supposed to include with the flying fox but since it was raining, we can’t really use that advantage.
We were only allowed to cross the bridge by 7 people at a time. There are some speaker playing music there and a guy who announce or forcing people to hurry up when taking photos on the bridge since most of them will jam the way for far too long.
If there are lots of people jamming the bridge for a long time, you may wanna just jump off the bridge ’cause you’re not allowed to turn back. Don’t do it tho, it’s just a bad advice from stuppid little boy.
From the wooden bridge, the next path will be another photo spot but unfortunately, it wasn’t that great if you visit that before the night. There are some lightning bulb placed on the left and right from the walking path but it’ll only lights up on the night. We can’t really visit that place on the night because we will not have any public transportation available to take us home.
Well in the end, this place is a nice destination for you and your family to visit. There’s nothing much you can do beside from taking photos and enjoying the views. But if you come at the right time, there are more things to explore like camping area, rabbit forest, concert on the open hall, and so on.
